The poster says it all really. I found it genuinely shocking that so many, to me common, words were falling out of use and could be unknown to children. Pity the child who knoweth not ‘otter’.

The message is carried by a restrained and exquisite exhibition at the HQ of The Lettering Trust at Snape Maltings. The small works of art need no commentary. I illustrate a sample of them. All I need add is that they are beautifully displayed in an exhibition which it is a privilege to visit.
