Went (5 Dec) to the PV of ‘Cut Open’ at The Cut open exhibition, Halesworth, primarily of course to find out if my three submissions had been hung, and if so, how.
It was pleasing to find that, as anticipated in an earlier blog, the general standard was high among the 159 works on display: there are indeed many gifted artists in East Anglia and particularly around Halesworth. It is a good exhibition, sensitively hung. It continues until January 8, 2016.
It was immodestly gratifying to find that one of my two big paintings, a collage called ‘The Bothy’, was the first painting the visitor sees on entering the ground floor (below left); and the other (‘Sizewell’ in The Gallery here) was hung in the centre of a striking array of big paintings along the long wall of that floor (below right).
Since ‘Sizewell’ is already in The Gallery, perhaps I’d better exhibit ‘The Bothy’ in The Gallery here too.
I have: it has been added to The Gallery and is already exhibited (6 Dec).
A small abstract called (retrospectively) ‘Marina’ (below left) is the third of my paintings hanging, with other abstracts, in ‘The Cut’ exhibition (below right).
