Unmistakably St Ives, whether looking north east up the coast across St Ives Bay to Godrevy lighthouse, or westwards across the harbour at low tide; and the quality of the light hits even the camera lens ….
My recent visit was brief but I nevertheless managed to look round the main galleries; that Tate St Ives was closed helped.
Most interesting was the Penwith Gallery (as usual) where I happened to hit the day when one exhibition was being taken down while material for the next exhibition was being brought in and placed against the walls.
These are details of two of the paintings, I know not by whom or what they are called – no disrespect to the artists (whose copyright I hope I’m not infringing) but I snapped these images because, in their fine quality to my eyes, they tell you exactly where you are: so unmistakably St Ives.
