This is the title of the Royal Academy’s blockbuster exhibition for this winter/spring. It is in Burlington House, Piccadilly, London, and occupies almost as much space as the Summer Exhibition. I visited it recently when it stayed open late for Friends; it was still crowded but the numbers thinned out towards 10 pm. This sort of privileged event must make it a very long day for the room attendants who understandably cannot wait to usher the last viewers out of the galleries as the closing time approaches.
The exhibition itself is splendid. It is a big show in the first place, proceeding grandly from room to room; and though once or twice I felt I had seen enough bunches/clumps of colourful flowers, I can but urge anyone who happens to read this to go and see the exhibition if they possibly can. It is worth it for the last two rooms alone, about the contents of which my lips shall remain sealed. The exhibition lasts till 20 April 2016.
