Over the past month my efforts to learn how to manage, develop and use this new web page have been very much guided and supported by its designer, Bob Foyers. Today we had a long, last session crouched over our laptops as I was taught how to add new images (or ‘Projects’ as they are ludicrously called – clearly whoever invented this IT language does not know what a ‘project’ is to an archaeologist) to the page on my own, and various other essentials of managing the page in all its multi-facetted complexity and sophistication (or so it seems to me). So I am now on my own. If nothing else happens here, we’ll all know why. But tomorrow (today actually) I am going to attempt to upload two new images, to bring the total in The Gallery up to the maximum, 16; and write, and add to them, their commentaries.

I suspect that will not be our ‘last’ session, and that at the very least I will be mailing and phoning Bob for help and advice in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, I would like to thank him enormously for his skills and patience in bringing an IT illiterate to the stage at which, with somewhat different degrees of confidence, we agreed I should now try to be my own website manager on my own.
