I seem to have been working on this landscape painting for a long time and perhaps it is now finished, not least as an example of a ‘figurative abstract’. Compare it with its ‘bland’ (my word) version a couple of blogs ago and you will understand why I sense I have brought it back to life and made quite a good painting of it across its one metre width and half a metre height. It is drying at the moment, as it will continue to do for some time since the last of some six or seven layers of paint was quite thick oils in places. I have promoted it straight into The Gallery in the hope (belief?) that it is a reasonably good painting.
