In contrast to ‘Farmyard’, an unplanned painting of a ‘Green Man’ emerged out of almost nothing – I was actually trying out some newly-acquired inks on paper, greens especially, and suddenly there was this face looking at me. I stopped; and apart from literally dotting an eye, I left it alone.

Here is why I stopped:

 

 

I sense this might be a ‘good ‘un’ and will have another look at it shortly, hoping it is good enough to go straight into The Gallery.

After another look at it, I have indeed placed it on exhibition in The Gallery. 13 October, 2016.

And further, I have used it as the front of my card for Xmas 2016. In looking at it very closely for reproduction purposes, I have discovered that it contains at least four human faces. I should have called it ‘Green men.’ 20 October, 2016.
