It has been a good weekend for the painting, with productive uninterrupted sessions in the studio on both days in between invigorating walks in the sunshine cold. Four paintings have been duly finished – as in finished finished, – two more have been worked on and a new one re-using an old canvas with a poor painting on it has been started in my favourite medium, mixing oils with ochre on the canvas with my hands – the tangibility of the aesthetic!

Saturday was the better day, painting away with TMS baubling in the background as we thumped South Africa: I’m talking cricket should any heathen happen to read this!
