43/15 ‘Moon below the cliffs’ Watercolour on A4 paper has been taken down from The Gallery, where it appeared with the following short note:
‘This small watercolour is discussed in ‘Insight’ (now ‘Commentary’) on 9 September (2015). It arises from a trip to Shetland and is in part unconsciously inspired by the cliffs at the northern edge of St. Ninian’s Isle. They were seen in bright sunlight; the darkness here was directly suggested by paintings of Mull by Anna Badar. I cannot explain why I suddenly used watercolour. The moon was an afterthought.’
